OOOOO so pretty. My favorite Holiday tradition is chili and cinnamon rolls on Christmas Eve. My dad and his family did it for year and my family still does. Even all of use grown up kids do it when we can't be at my parents for Christmas. It's so cool knowing my whole family is eating the same thing on Christmas Eve even if we aren't together.

Hi, thinking about Christmas I like the fact that I can spend some time with all the family. Nowadays it's so hard to slow down and sit together for a while. I guess the Chrismats time just reminds me what's the most important for me and what should I take care the most. Cheers!

Ok favorite holiday tradition pffff I'm trying to come up with my own traditions since all my family's moved away and we can't spend christmas together anymore so it's all an experiment to me lol! My favorite would be buying a new ornament for my son each year.

My favorite tradition is the tree: we go out, as a family, and tag a tree on Thanksgiving weekend, then go out again the weekend before Xmas to cut it down and bring it home. There are few farms that let people tag these days, but the selection of the tree is my favorite part!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 3rd Christmas. We don't have any traditions at Christmas itself, however, any time we go on a vacation or special day trip it requires bringing home an "ornament" for the tree. This has made us get creative since not every place has a gift shop or an ornament!

I love Santa! You know, the kids have to get to bed early because Santa can't come until they're asleep kinda thing. The Christmas tree with no presents underneath and they (the presents) magically appear on Christmas morning. Not the we open our presents on Christmas Eve kind of thing, because Santa delivers in the middle of the night.

Anonymous said...

My favorite tradition is getting our tree. My entire family has gone to the same tree farm in the mountains since I was in kindergarten. We pick out a tree (after much deliberation and argument), and eat candy canes and hot cocoa afterward.

My favorite holiday tradition I inherited from my husband's family. Advent... The 4 Sundays before Christmas we light one candle per Sunday and read stories about the Savior. Then each of the children get a little gift. It's a very nice simple way to keep the focus and the real meaning of Christmas.

Thanks for the giveaway! I'm a beginner, so that booklet would be so helpful!

I love Toastie Tootsies. At Thanksgiving, everyone picks a name from a hat and we purchase socks for that person. Not just any socks though. Very special socks. Pink camo's for my husband that loves hunting, ballerina toe socks for the 17 year-old boy, Santa socks for the uncle who's little kids don't know his Santa secret. On Christmas Eve we have turkey sandwiches and chips for dinner, do Toastie Tootsies then read the Christmas story from the scriptures and pass around a box of See's candy. Perfect every time!

Denise said...

My favorite tradition is that every Thanksgiving, my Dad and I kickstart the holidays and watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles :)

Jiaying said...

We just started this new tradition last year but we're really loving it. We would sit down as a family and each chooses a charitable organization, and the family make a donation to that charity in the person's name. It puts everybody in the spirit of giving for the holidays. Another tradition since my daughter was born is to make a tree ornament with a recent picture of hers and hang it on the tree together. We're making number 4 this year!

Thanks for the giveaway. Love the fabrics.

I love Tina Givens! My favorite holiday tradition growing up was the advent calendar. Now that I have my own family and haven't made one for us (for shame, I know), I want to start a new tradition: Christmas Eve pajamas. We never did it growing up, though I know lots of other families that do. I think it sounds like a really fun tradition and one I want to start with my kids.

I remember a tradition we had when I was a kid. The rule was that no one opened gifts Christmas Eve until the supper dishes were washed. One year, my cousin and I decided that our moms were just being too slow with the dishes so we took over and finished them up quickly, and after that it was a yearly tradition for the two of us to do the dishes.

My very favorite holiday tradition is exchanging a jar of green olives with my brother and mom. We didn't have a lot of luxuries growing up, but my mom would always splurge and get us a jar of green olives to serve in a little bowl for Christmas dinner.

We still sneak jars into each other's stockings.

My favorite holiday tradition would be walking to church on christmas eve with the whole family. Everybody pretends they are annoied by it and we are always late but there is a lot of goofing around and making jokes on the way over so I would miss it a lot if we just took the car. And it is only a one hour walk :)

What a lovely Giveaway! The fabrics are beautiful! My favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the Christmas Tree and then turning off all of the lights in the house and looking at the tree while listening to Christmas music. Yeah, not so original I know, but it is very wonderful to me!

Great Giveaway!

My favorite tradition is christmas eve. When we were little kids it was just too much to make a fancy dinner christmas eve and christmas day so instead my parents order a platter of lunch meats, and buy some cooked shrimp for dinner christmas eve. We all make our own sandwiches in the kitchen, and stand around the shrimp bowl talking about what we hoped santa would bring and all the things we did wrong that might get us coal. Now that we're older we still do this because it is our own little tradition.

Our favorite holiday tradition (provided we have snow!) is sledding down the perfect kiddy hill we discovered a few years back at a sculpture park. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and sleighing between the artworks adds something special :-)

Thank you for a very pretty and generous give-away! (I discovered your blog through Elsie Marley Kids Clothes Sewing Week and I really like your style & choice of colors and embellishments!)

My favourite holiday tradition is gathering around the piano to sing carols. When I was young, it was with me and my grandparents. As I got older, friends from school would join in. Now the tradition continues with my hubby's family, only with a few guitars thrown in!
